Great Addington C of E Primary School

Headteacher's Welcome

Hello, and thank you for visiting our web site.

I am pleased to have this opportunity to introduce you to Great Addington C.E. (A) Primary School. Great Addington is a small village school accommodating boys and girls from the age of 4 to 11.   It is served by a dedicated and highly motivated staff and we enjoy a wonderful supportive and active relationship with our parents. At present we are full, with 105 children split into 4 classes. Only 50% of our children come from the two villages we serve. The remaining 50% come from the surrounding towns and villages.

We offer the following to our children:

An atmosphere, which is friendly yet stimulating and challenging.

***

A  broad and balanced curriculum, which meets individual learning  needs.

***

A stable, safe and sensitive environment.

***

A sound contribution to the children's spiritual, moral and social development.

***

Preparation for the responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

***

A commitment to high standards of performance and behaviour.

We aim for children to receive all the benefits that a small school has to offer, whilst also gaining the experiences that would normally be on offer at a larger school. Extra curricular and real ‘hands-on’ experiences are very important to us at Great Addington.

We  believe strongly that although we strive to reach the ultimate state of perfection, arriving there is not as important as the quality of the journey. If our children are growing up happy and well educated individuals within the Christian context, which we aim to provide, then we should all be satisfied that the journey is a worthwhile one.

Do come and visit our school, and enjoy the ‘unique’ atmosphere that permeates  everything we  do.

With my best wishes
